With an aim to give top-tier training to surgeons in robotic-assisted surgery, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi is launching its cutting-edge robotics training centre on May 2.

The facility will be established in the wet lab, SET (skills, e-learning, and telemedicine) facility, and convergence block at AIIMS New Delhi, with support from India Medtronic Private Limited. This centre will provide surgeons world-class robotic-assisted surgical training, including simulation and wet lab training. This is the first ever unique kind of partnership to provide robotic training being setup in any government or public setup.

A statement from AIIMS said that such training is vital for surgeons and would pave the way for them to give patients extra benefits and surgical options. It further emphasized that the alliance would bring together unique technology and decades of surgical knowledge to teach physicians nationwide and provide access to the advantages of robotic-assisted surgery. Training and instruction in cutting-edge technology like robotics are essential for surgeons. It will pave the way for the entire healthcare community to deliver additional advantages and surgical solutions to patients.
